FLORAL STUDIO |

Meet Gemma |

Gemma’s work is inspired by people, fashion, art and nature. Her goal is to have a personalised approach, curating florals to reflect your style, your story.

Q: HOW DID YOU GET STARTED WITH LEILANI BY GG?

It all started with my wedding….back in 2016 I married my husband David, he is the good looking, heavy lifter behind the business (he told me to say that). This was the pivotal moment for me, I instantly fell in love with flowers and the endless possibilities and emotions they can create on your special day. I left my career in fashion design to pursue this dream and pinch myself everyday that I’m now living it out.

Q: WHATS YOUR FLORAL DESIGN STYLE?

TIMELESS | ETHEREAL | PLAYFUL

Timeless ~ We are aware of trends and take inspiration from these but we strongly believe in timeless designs that are true to you and your story, we have a modern approach to floristry and like to break traditional creative boundaries.

Ethereal ~ extremely delicate and light in a way that seems not to be of this world.

Playful ~ We love colour, fun and don’t take ourselves too seriously so our designs reflect this.

”Gemma is extremely talented, and has a unique eye when it comes to her floristry. she understood the brief in every way, even down to her vessel selection, which complimented the theme and overall feel of our wedding day to absolute perfection.”

Q: HOW DO YOU APPROACH YOUR WEDDDING WORK?

Weddings are pieces of art to me that I focus all my time and energy on. I get truly invested in the couple and the aesthetics of the entire day. Building relationship is important to me to be able to draw out your vision.

My background in fashion fuels my love for texture and eye for colour which strongly influences my design style and approach. I’m a visual creative and so love to provide concept moodboards at an early stage to ensure we are aligned with our vision.

We pour everything into making sure your colour palette is perfection, starting from a visual proposal to evoke the look and mood of your day, through to sourcing each stem of the perfect product. Every tone is considered to make sure it compliments and blends to create a visual sensation.

Our mission is collaborate with you to inspire, educate, connect and create your dream floral vision in a stress free way. See more about our process on the enquire page, below are our 5 pillars to make it happen

Q: HOW DO YOU SOURCE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS?

Local is always our first priority. We take great pride and time in ensuring the most beautiful seasonal and local product through great relationships with wholesalers and local growers. Our promise is finding the freshest, best quality stand out stems.

This means flowers are fresher, cleaner, and we support our local flower community who pour everything into home grown beauties. The additional bonus for you is every year on your wedding anniversary you are surrounded by these flowers and transported down memory lane.

Q: HOW DO YOU PRACTICE SUSTAINABILITY?

We like to play our part and practice responsible flowering. We are proudly foam free, floral foam is a single-use plastic that has as much plastic content as 10 carrier bags, we are always trying to reduce the use of single plastics to help our environmental impact.

Floral foam is typically used in centrepiece and large scale arrangements for convenience, instead we use high quality vessels, chicken wire and ikebana Kenzans resulting in designs being more intentional and considered. For large scale installations we are consistently evolving new mechanics and structures, we secretly like the challenge of working out themechanical side to deliver one of a kind designs to you.

“ We had so much fun working with you and from the moment we met you we both felt so at ease and knew we were in safe hands. On the day of the wedding we were absolutely blown away with every arrangement. We can’t thank you enough for making us feel so special and creating something better than we could have imagined!”
